Pizza with the boy

Here's one thing that me and my boy enjoyed last week. I asked him to help me out in the kitchen as I prepared this for our afternoon snacks while the princess was in deep slumber.

He enjoyed the part where we brushed the crust with the sauce :) He also helped me to put some sliced hams, then I grated the cheese directly on top. For the items that we used , here :

and here's the pizza before i had it toasted in an oven . lots of cheese !

I actually forgot to take the picture of the little boy since my hand was full during that time. Hopefully we can try another recipe soon, something as simple as this :)

Zzzzz

When will I have a good night sleep again?

I think I have to wait a few more months before I enjoy bedtime once more. Currently, I can't wait for Friday night since Gelo can look after the princess during night time while I catch some well deserved ME time in bed. He wakes me up though during nappy change :)

The princess is in Dreamland now, but Joaqui is wide awake playing at the PC. Oh well, this is LIFE :)

Mommy and Big Brother Joaqui

Our picture together before I gave birth.

I never thought he would greatly respond with the arrival of Dominique, it was more than what I expected. He's just so proud of his baby sister. Truly a big brother now. When we arrived home last Wednesday, he was ecstatic to show off his baby sister to everyone. He wanted to sleep besides her at the bassinet :) And he was eager to show some of his toys to baby and asked me to bring baby at the playroom.

So far, so good :) Except that he kisses baby even when she's asleep .. and he moves freely so I have to tell him to be extra careful especially with baby's head. Other than that, everything is great!

Im one proud mom of my boy.

( can you see that plastic on top of our bed? Thats my "baon" , Mrs. Fields Rocky Mountain Mogul Brownies! )

Another busy day

I am so back!

I just gave birth last Oct. 27, Monday to our princess Ysabela Dominique. We are still adjusting with things here at home, but its not really something crazy when we had Joaquin. We somehow know what to do :)

Our sincerest thanks to everyone who sent us messages after my delivery. Having a baby is really such a wonderful experience , and our family is really enjoying it, especially Kuya Joaqui who is so proud of his sister.

Dominique is currently sleeping, and he is outside playing with his bike. He even asked me get his shades coz its a bit sunny. That reminded me that I need to check online for some Wayfarer sunglasses , Im thinking of getting a classic one for Gelo, and as usual, im getting it online :)

My boy

That's not really an instructed pose from me... he's watching tv , that explains this look. He's getting bigger and smarter everyday (syempre, anak ko yan! hehehe) ..

Just this morning, after breakfast , I was really amazed on how well he can converse already at 2 years and 3 months.

Mommy : " Common Joaqui, wash up time, then you'll change clothes"

Joaqui : (holding a crayon, while sitting in his study table, he looked up to me and said.. )
Later Mommy. Later.

Mommy : "Okay "

A few minutes after, I went back to him and said.."Common.." (and i gave him a nod)

Joaqui: "Later Mommy, I'm writing." ( and pretended to be soo busy with his colors and books)

I wasnt able to say anything , and just finished my bowl of Koko Krunch. After that, I asked our helper to carry him so I can wash him already. I know, he will answer me again with his favorite "later mommy" line kung di ko sya papakuha sa table nya.. hehehe

Baby talk.

How time flies. In a month and a half my little boy will turn two. So that would mean I am a stay at home mother for almost two years now. Motherhood is the best thing that ever happened to me, and I thank God for this very wonderful blessing. I can still remember Joaquin's first day here at home. I was really having a hard time attending to me because I still feel tired but i have no choice since there is no one here at home to help me but Gelo. We take turns and he sees to it that I have time to rest. One of the most unforgettable moment that I shared with my son would be our breastfeeding sessions. I love it everytime i will carry hima nd he would latch unto me. I really wanted to breastfed him exclusively, but sadly, i wasn't able to. So I alternated his breasfeeding with bottle feeding. Luckily, he didnt get confused when I switched, and he enjoys all of his bottles. He used Tommee Tippee eversince, and for 2 years, all are still in good shape. M mom bought these bottles for him at a steal price. There's a lot of baby feeding bottle at the market nowadays, but Tommee Tippee proved it's worth when it comes to price, durability and functionality. I checked their website today because I like their other products too. Lucky me, because they have exclusive online promotions now. I might also get a few toys as a gift for my cousin's baby girl. I might be up for some online shopping again.

Gossip Girl wannabe.

Finally, I have the season one and I am so excited to see it..

So I planned on everything for tonight.

* I will watch it at the living room where I can have the nice sounds without bothering someone who's asleep (aka the daddy) , since the DVD that I have doesnt have any subtitle..grrr ( expecting for so much with a pirated ehh ehehe)

* I will watch it though Joaquin is still up. I have no time to wait for him to sleep before I can watch since he sleeps at 12mn to 1am.. So i scheduled myself at 10:30pm

* I will have my favorite Act II Popcorn and a can of Coke Light while watching.. haay sarap buhay...

So before 10:30pm, Joaqui's Aquadoodle was at the floor and a basketball court with a few balls. The playroom invaded the living room as I thought this would be an option to somehow make him stay at the sala as i watch.. A few minutes after, Im holding this big glass bowl of popcorn and a can of Coke Light..weeee excited , so I pressed on the Play Key.. Ayos! Little boy was everywhere! Throwing a few stuff, playing with our telephone, entering the playroom though the lights are off , checking on the dining table, opening kitchen cabinet doors, weighing himself at the scale, peeking at our househelp who was asleep then.. reaching for the bowl of popcorn..

So , if you will ask me, how' s Gossip girl ? I . DONT . KNOW. YET. I dont even know the name of the lead girl.. *sigh* I will just try my luck next time when he's asleep or I really need to ask gelo to look after him while Im watching.

But hey, I finished one popcorn bag by myself! Happiness!

My shoe boy strikes again

What's wrong with this picture ??

Yeah! The shoes!!! LOL

He put on his shoes all by himself, and my sister just saw him walking around the room wearing it. We all laughed after seeing him, feel na feel pa maglakad ha! He really loves that specific Crocs of him, I don't know why. It's a bit "sakto" so I don't let him wear that one often. But , boy oh boy, He knows where all of his shoes are placed, so he would go there, and grab this one. Just tonight, I removed this when i need to wash him and change his nappy. Gelo and I still had to explain to him why we need to remove his Crocs ( yes, he can say the brand clearly and can even recognize the logo anywhere!) . He was crying while saying "shoes, shoes" while I'm putting on his nappy! Hahaha! So after putting on his PJ's he wore the shoes. We went to our room and a few minutes after , we have to remove the shoes again coz he needs to be in bed for milk. But as soon as he's done with his milk, he went off the bed and put on the shoes all by himself. I think he likes shoes noh?! I know... I know... I wont say anything.. I know what you' re thinking.. hehe

A Different Day

I have received a lot of compliments from fellow moms , relatives and friends already, telling me how "mabait" my little boy is. He is , actually. Sometimes, I can't help but compare him to other kids of his age acting indifferently. It's like I'm telling myself, "buti di ganyan si Joaqui". I feel grateful hearing those comments, and I feel blessed and lucky having him as my son. But you see, kids are kids, at a certain point, they tend to be sobrang malikot or stubborn . You all know by now that I am a hands-on, full time, yayaless mom. It is my vocation. I love what I'm doing and I feel so fulfilled with that.

Being with your child the whole time is tiring (and exhausting), that explains my weight loss I guess. Sometimes, I wanted to have even just 5 minutes of "ME" time. Like 5 minutes of silence just to bring back my sanity? I am not complaning though, I have come to embrace that everything is a part of motherhood.

Today, I had a hard time with Joaqui that I almost shouted and I felt like I'm gonna explode any minute. A part of me feels sad for that. I feel bad about myself. Oh well, I guess we all have our bad times , mine is today. My super powers of being "The Octopus Mommy" didn't worked today. *sigh*

The little boy is asleep now. I promise I'll make it up to him as soon as he's up.

Jesus and Mamery

I was bout to blog about this , when I saw Joy's post a while ago. Here's my share Joy..

Gelo, Joaquin, my MIL and I were at SM Manila a while ago for a quick trip before dropping off my MIL at her place.

At SM, on our way to Tenderoast, I decided to check on St. Paul's Publications store. I was with Joaquin then, while Gelo and my MIL went ahead and ordered food. I am looking for a cross for little kids. Joaquin is really addicted with any image of Jesus and Mama Mary ( Mamery for him). I saw one at Php50, and its such a cutie with rounded edges pa.. but its in pink! Anuva! No stocks in Blue so i decided to check a few items. Joaquin kept pointing to Jesus everywhere! Tinitignan na talaga sya ng mga tao, and they commented, " Kilala mo pala si Jesus"..and the little boy said "opo.".. oh my, I am touched!

We went out of the store, and to my shock, he cried! As In cry to death! Jesus! pa din ng Jesus! while pointing at the store.. Aww.. So Gelo and my MIL asked why he's crying. I explained. I ended up asking Gelo for some money, and Joaquin and I went back to St. Paul Store.

I let him move around. Grabbing a few books, touching some images.. kissing Jesus.. and doing his own version of the sign of the cross! Wow! I asked him to get what he likes from the "estampita" stand.. the small images of Jesus and saints with prayers at the back.. Would you believe he got the following:

1 image of Mama Mary
1 image of Jesus (sacred Heart)
1 Image of Jesus at the cross
1 image of Sto. Nino

He had variety talaga. So I paid our bill and left the store. He was holding his small plastic til we get Tenderoast. I opened the plastic while waiting for or food. He immediatley showed everything to Gelo. As if reading the prayers at the back. My oh my! MIL said na baka mag priest later on.

It hit me.

Am I ready? Will I ever be ready?

They said that having a priest in the family is really a big blessing, and I have nothing against that , really. I will feel terribly blessed if Joaquin will have "his calling". I do hope he can live up with that.

Is priesthood something you can sense at an early age?

Or is this normal with some other kids? I can write a lot of stories about Joaqui and his love for Jesus....on how he would first notice an image of Jesus at any house we enter, at any place.. he can spot Jesus. He would love to stand in front of an image and stare.. or touch. He actually loves to just stay in front of Jesus. That makes him giddy happy. Really happy.

This early, we support his happiness..We are getting him a nice cross pendant. He already have one necklace with cross that's originally Gelo's own( yes, Gelo used it during his own baptism, and Joaquin used it during his baptism too) , but I saw a nice one in black.. hope the daddy will read this. Common, lets buy Joaquin a nice necklace, LOL! Palusot na naman! I even asked my cousin Dorxie, who is one of Joaqui's ninang to find a nice cross for Joaquin, something he can carry around. He is playing with my Lola's Antique cross and a few images here in the house.

Here's a pic of Joaquin a few months back yata.. embracing the Holy family while watching Barney. This is heavy , im telling you.

I hope and pray for the best. Thy will be done.

A Mom's Greatest Fear

I’ve been tagged by Nice.

What is your Greatest Fear as a Mom?

MY
greatest fear is far from happening. That's why Gelo and I decided that I will spend my time being a SAHM with no yaya. And it paid off.

I fear that Joaqui will get closer to a yaya if if ever we will get one. Di ko yata kakayanin na mas sumama pa sya sa yaya than me or Gelo. Or during his crying times, mas mag calm down sya if yaya will carry him. Anything to do with closeness to yaya is something i fear the most.

Thanks for this one Nice, you made me appreciate being a Sahm more :)
