Makulay ang Buhay..

sa Meaty Bulay :) Many times , i tried correcting him, but still he would say Bulay.. ok! fine!

** we have ampalaya in our weekly menu, usually paired with fried tilapia. I slice it in small bite pieces , a liitle sauce and i put on some tilapia in his bowl. Solve!**

** I let him sit on his booster chair while we eat. It makes things easier for me .. Look at that face, mejo bitter kasi ang ampalaya that time, LOL.. **

** He prefers to drink water directly from a cup during meals. Never did he enjoy using a training / sippy cup. Actually wala pala syang training cup.. hahaha! Yan ang turo ng daddy nya. He would usually imitate his dad while drinking. **

I am so thankful he eats ampalaya at such an early age. I seldom had a hard time with him during mealtime. He gets his bowl, and his spoon :) The helper sets the table, but i told her to let Joaqui get his own. Teaching a little household chore wont hurt. Now , sanay na sya.

I am so thankful to Joaqui , im not a fan of vegetables, but because of him, I am now eating ampalaya (and Gelo too!) .

Healthy Skin

I am just so thankful now because my skin never had some major breakouts during this pregnancy. You see, when I was pregnant with Joaqui, I had some really small zits in my forehead when I was 5 months pregnant. Having a facial or treatment is a no-no during pregnancy, so I just let it be gone in a natural way. But now, I am currently on my 7th month, and I am so happy with my skin. So seldom that I have a zit, and i dont think i'll be needing some acne cures after giving birth. Truly, each pregnancy is different from the other.

The Books Tag

Jenny , Jane and Kathy tagged me last week, but Im not able to do it yet because Im too lazy to take a picture of the little boy's books , LOL. But I will definitely finish that tag within this week, because I am set to clean the shelf. I am also busy this week, I feel productive after having time to look through Joaqui's baby stuff.. I was able to separate the ones that can still be used by the little girl. Now, I am still set to look for some air tools for the husband. I don't have any idea on this, so I am checking things online as usual.

Jump for Joy

" Attention! fall in line !"

"Ready ! .. Get set ! .. GO ! .. "

** Joaqui in air **

** alex having fun **

** Alex and Joaqui while watching Bela in full energy **

** Sandy in high jump **

Isn't it obvious? The kids really had fun jumping in this area.. they know how to have fun on their own, even without toys hehehe.

Im not sure if Sam (jacqui's) has a pic while jumping. Sophia (Jane's ), on the other hand enjoyed coloring a book from Abie's kalakal. Girl Scout si jacqui, may baon na Colors!!! Where is Matthew and Martha ( Aggie's) ? They arrived late, so they were still eating during this time :)

Joaqui got all sweaty.. He arrived in a denim jumper, a few minutes after, I made him wear shorts. Before going home, I changed him to a T shirt naman.

Ayan! Ayaw magpalit ng damit at gusto pang tumalon ng tumalon. Parang ang linis ng floor kung umupo! In times like this, I let Gelo do the action :) I changed his clothes , and gave him his milk.. in no time , he was asleep, LOL!

That explains why he's not in this picture..

Shoe craze

My love for shoes won't stop, i know! I bought 2 new shoes this month same design and they just differ in color, one in gold and one in silver. Aside from buying shoes at the mall, I make it a point to browse online too. But I rarely buy any shoes for me online, since I am not sure if it will fit me with the size, or if it will look good on me. But I have one exception with this. Ever since I saw Blowfish shoes online, I have decided to get one of their shoes soon. They have a wide variety of flats with straps, something I truly adore because I know that style compliments my feet. Aside from that , they have casuals that would look good in jeans and dresses. I have read good reviews about the Blowfish Women's Shoes already, and I can feel that I will get my pair by next month. I just need to do a little budgeting since I am to give birth soon. Here's a few of their items:

I want these three. They have high cut boots, but I'll settle with this pink one (they have it in aqua blue too ) , I find it really unique chic.

Blowfish Designer shoes are really making it big in the market nowadays. Check out their site, and I'm sure you will find your shoe match. Happy Shoe Hunting!

Sleepy Monday

Is this what you call a hangover from yesterday's activities?

Gelo went to office today until 12 noon, and I am one happy mommy because I was able to take a nap after lunch. Joaqui wasn't sleepy at all, so I asked Hubby to look after the little boy as I sleep. I feel rejuvenated after 2 hours of sleep. Sana araw araw ganito (ambisyosa!) .. hahaha!

I cooked the twister fries that I bought at SM grocery yesterday, and we munched on it while we shared some funny stories of our little boy. I just love this day.

Phone Chat

My day won't be complete without having a chat with my mom. I am so thankful for this technology because it actually saves us a lot of money from overseas calls. Free chat is such a very useful innovation for people to stay connected to each other despite the distance. Imagine, talking to one another in real time, and did I mention that it's free. Lately, I've been here more adult chat already, though I haven't given it a try yet. Try it now today, and experience it for yourself. I swear, the chat lines are very open and its so easy to use.

For babydoll

It was a tiring but fun sunday for me and my family. We had a great lunch with friends, a little shopping for the babydoll , grocery time , and we went to mass to end our day. The husband insisted on going to the grocery right after lunch, but I begged to do a little layette shopping for babydoll. I had a lot of items already, even got a towel for my little boy. I think Im done with my layette shopping. Next in my list.. toys for infants ! I had a baby boy before, so obviously, I need to buy toys for girls, and yes, Im checking on dollhouses already. excited mommy!

Happy Weekend

TGIF !

We are supposed to watch the Wanders Circus Show tonight, a friend gave me 6 free tickets this afternoon, but we are just too tired to go to Casino Filipino , Sucat. The tickets are only valid for tonight though. We just had dinner at Pizza Hut since I crave for Pizza lately. Joaqui also had his usual trip at Timezone.

Tomorrow will be a long day, I am scheduled for my prenatal check up at 12 noon, then we are off to St. Lukes Hospital to visit my MIL who is scheduled to have her executive check up. We might drop by our travel agent later in the afternoon for some inquiries , the husband is planning to have some luxury vacations by the start of next year. I hope we still have a budget for that.

Come Sunday, Im meeting with the MBAP's for our Lunch at Dampa , Macapagal .. im one excited preggy girl.. of course, aside from the chit chat with the moms, im craving for buttered shrimps, liempo , squid , etc.. etc.. See you mommies!

Have a great weekend everyone! Stay safe !

Not so Smart

That's my internet connection.

It started last week , and I thought I was having problems with my laptop when I cannot load some pages im trying to view. My friendster even appears without pictures. Grr! The other day was the worst! At first I can access YM, but cant open any site. Then I tried our desktop, still the same thing. So I called SmartBro to ask them if there's a problem with my internet connection. The CSR told me that the base station is okay and I should be able to surf the net smoothly. After telling her that I am using a router, she asked me to have it isolated , and have the internet cable directly attached to the desktop.. and so I DID.

I was able to get thru YM and open the sites, BUT .. sometimes the page won't load at first try. I really have to refresh once or twice to see the site. * sigh *

I will have the router checked too this weekend, but I can sense that there's really something wrong again after hearing the same story from Abie . Staying in just one place to go online is just so hard for me , since I am used to chatting and doing some tasks anywhere I wanna be in the house , or should I say , anywhere Joaqui is. I can only go online after lunch , the time we go to our room after Joaqui's bath. I hope I'll have my wireless connection again asap!

Halloween Costume for my boy

I just can't believe that its almost the end of August ! Cliche as it may sound, but time surely flies so fast. I am on my 7th month too, so I better start looking for some Halloween costumes for my son , since I might give birth during that time. I would still want him to enjoy having a nice costume this year , since we already started with it since he was born. I am sure to have a big tummy by then , and the weeks before that, I am not sure if i can still tour the mall and look for a really nice Costumes, so I am checking online now , and I have decided to order it there. Costume Cauldron is one of the popular sites when it comes to these products , and my friends already tried ordering from them. I only heard good feedbacks about them , about the quality and price, so I am trying them this year.

I browsed with their listings for toddlers , and I am having a hard time choosing. At first I saw Barney , then Blue of Blue's Clues , Elmo , and there's a lot of animals featured too. But I am inclined on getting Blue, since that's his all time favorite character. He will definitely be in the mood during trick or treat if he's wearing Blue.

Since I am due to give birth from the last week of October to the first week of November, I fear that I wont be able to join him during trick or treat. Maybe , it would just be him and his dad. But if I can still manage to join him, of course, I'll do everything to be with him on that day. He's bigger now , and I know he will enjoy the trick or treat. So to all mommies out there looking for costumes , be sure to read about halloween costume safety first buying anything. We all want our kids to be safe and have fun , right?

And there was light.

My friend who recently got married will soon be having a house warming. I am really excited to see her because we are both pregnant and we haven't seen each other after the wedding. I asked her for her wishlist of home needs, to be sure that I can give her something that she doesn't have for now. She just told me that a Vanity Lighting would be a perfect gift.

And so last weekend, while me and my family were at the mall , I checked at the lighting section to get her a gift. Wow! I was so impressed with the lights that I saw that I really wanted to get Chandeliers for our home, but we don't need one for now. Though I find it really appealing at the living room, we just had our new lights after the house was renovated, but still, who knows, we can get a chandelier and have it placed somewhere in the house. Outdoor Lighting Fixtures are also getting in the trend now. They offer not just the old traditional ones, and from what I've seen at the mall, some can even match up with the theme of your outdoors. I was able to get my friend a Vanity Lighting at a really good cost, and I got her a brand that I trust too. Now, I just can't wait to meet her at the house warming.

Questions of the Week #28

Join here !

3. Name 3 of your worst quality. - Moody, impatient, and lazy (the last one is acceptable since im preggy )

7. What is the most expensive item you own? - maybe our car.

8. How about the least expensive? - a lot.. like clothes

9. Do you ever leave little notes to your partner? - we exchange small notes during college , but now , very seldom. only when i need to remind him of something, i write something at his planner , so when he opens it at the office, he'll get reminded.

10. When you’re talking, do you ever use your hands in the air to do quotation marks of certain words? - nope.

Just Trace it

We have this phone number at home ever since I was born , and lately , I really wanted to request for a number change. Why? I am receiving annoying calls at the wee hours of the morning. Add to that some telemarketing staff who gives me special offers that I'm really not interested with. But come to think of it, having a change in number would also be hard, since we have to inform everyone about the new one. So, I researched on alternative ways to settle this problem. And I found out that I can have the numbers traced. Yes, you can now trace owner of any phone number with confidentiality. Just type in the area code , together with the phone number and you will see the location of that caller. For added info , you may have to pay something less. Everything is processed with utmost confidentiality. Now, I am just waiting for that annoying caller , and I hope to find out details about him.

Books for Kuya.

The Chicka Chika ABC book is his current favorite. He saw this at the Alphabet Power Episode of Blue's Room, and he got hooked with it. I thought of buying it online, and even asked my mom to get it at Barnes and Noble.. But good thing , I checked it first at Fully Booked, at Php 252 sulit na , since its a board book.

I also bought the I am A Big Brother Book for him. This is one great book to prepare Kuya Joaqui for the coming of the new baby. I got teary eyed the first time I saw the pages..

We started reading last night, and Im glad he enjoyed listening to me and looking at the pictures. He knows that the little boy in the picture is Kuya Joaqui. He keeps on going back the page where the big bro is giving a bottle of milk to the baby. Im touched.. when we had a first browse of the book, he told me , "mommy, again.. again" .. I hope this bok will really help us to prepare him. There's also some helpful notes for the parents at the back of the book. Truly, worth buying :)

Here's Joaqui with his plate of rice with Dinuguan

I'm one lucky mom, he's not picky at all when it comes to food. He enjoyed dinuguan even before he turned 2 last April. He eats on his own already, especially when we are at home. I just sit him at his booster chair , buckle him and put on his tray. He drinks from a cup, he prefers that over tumblers during home meals.

Now he enjoys eating Ampalaya con Carne (thanks to the commercial for the inspiration hehehe) , and blame the lazy mom for not having a photo until now. One time when we were at Gerry's he feasted with Ground Pork wrapped in Laing , in cocomilk sauce (gata) . He's a rice eater just like his dad.

Tagging jane, abie , jacqui and kelly.

Passing to all mommies out there!

feeling warm.

I know that in this part of the world, where I am now, it's starting to hit the rainy season. It may seem really humid in the morning, but wait until the late afternoon and the sky will turn gray , followed by a heavy rainfall. This has been happening for days now, and I know it would be weird for me to say that we need a gas fire at home to keep us warm at night. Enjoying the coldness of the night is something to rare in a tropical country like what we have. I guess we are not really used to it. But my family who lives in a country , where it is cold the entire year , except for summer of course, they need something like gas fires . They currently have a heater at home and at their rooms, and during winter time, it is turned on almost the entire day. But since they are currently doing some renovations at the living room, they are considering getting a gas fire for additional decor inside the room.

My sister is not really familiar with this product since we don't have one here in Manila, so she first looked online for some nice and affordable gas or electric fires that they can buy for the living room. She never thought that there's a lot of modern and contemporary designs to choose from, and she got really excited to get one soon. She considers checking the mall too this weekend, and she sill just ask our dad to accompany her. I really can't contribute much info ih this product , since we don't need one, so all I did was help her look for sites that has a lot of designs with good prices. I cant wait to see what they will buy this weekend.

~ time out ~

Busy sa totoong buhay.

So timely, walang opps hahaha!

I dont want to post our plans for the weekend, baka may kumontra at di pa matuloy, Hahaha! As if may plans!

Have a great weekend everyone!! Take care and stay safe:)

Talking Watches

I recently got my husband a watch for his everyday use at work, and he's just too excited to receive it next month. I am actually looking for some his and hers watch, but I wasn't lucky enough to get something. Maybe next time. Here's something that really caught my attention while browsing through some watches online - talking watches . I was like a child, staring in fascination. Hope they have it for the kids too, im so sure, Joaqui will enjoy wearing one.

A - 10 - tion !

Your Attention Span is Medium

Your attention span is just about average.

You may think that you have a short attention span...

But being distracted is something most people struggle with.

The most important thing is that you're aware that your mind wanders.

If you find yourself daydreaming, you can usually snap out of it.

It may be tough to concentrate at times, but you can do it... if you want to!

Money Talk

Want to learn more about stocks online? Well, this is what's keeping me busy lately. I am reading every detail about stocks, since my husband bought a few stocks from their company, and I am really not knowledgeable on this. He asked me to always check on the current forex exchange in the market since his investment is in dollars. Now, I am getting familiar with the ins and outs of forex trading , since good amount of our money is in it already. I am lucky enough to find websites about it. It makes everything easy for me .

My drummer boy

Crazy with drums! And he's still not over it.

Kids usually have this trait of getting bored with their toys after a few times of playing with it.. but not Joaqui and his drums. These pics were taken last June, and ever since he got hold of this drum, its a must for him to get into some beat every single day, oh and it's not just once a day , im telling you.

He usually asks our helper to get it from the playroom and place it at the living room while watching Wowowee or Singing Bee :) He taps well, and would usually end it with a hit of the cymbals. Yeah, it's nosiy and sometimes, it gets annoying when you can't hear the contestants at Singing Bee anymore :) .. but seeing and hearing him play and enjoy what he's doing, I just can't help but smile and say .. "i will have a drummer soon" ..

Here's another shot of him while playing at Timezone ( no swiping of card though) . Would you believe that he would usually rush to this drum machine after shooting some hoops? At most times, an adult is playing, so he patiently waits for his turn, or he will stare at the drumset and player while watching. Bilib na bilib , LOL.

I just can't wait to enroll him for some formal training in drums. For now, we might have a trial session at Gymboree's Music Class. Hmm.. let's see ! I am off to check on some audio racks this weekend, and I really plan to visit Gymboree at Trinoma and have a trial session maybe.

Getting heavier !

Geez ! I think I gained 2 pounds already since last week. I am eating like a monster here at home. Too bad, Im enjoying some junk too like ice cream and choco cookies. After learning that the results of the blood sugar test is OK, I went all the way eating sweets! And to think that I still have 3 months left, I will definitely be larger in frame right after giving birth. That's really one of my fears, getting really big after this pregnancy and having a hard time losing those extra weight. I may need to take diet pills if i won't achieve my desired figure with exercise and diet.

** I hate ironing clothes and dusting furnitures :) I am not good with ironing , i tried really hard before, but I always fail. It ended up that my mom or our helper will re- iron everything . Who loves baseball ?

My husband is now in love with the game. He's been watching games on TV during weekends, and he already bought a few magazines too about sports. Lately, he signed up in one of the popular sports forum over the net. He told me about his nfl picks , and that is one thing that I need to learn more in the future. He's so happy that he is getting a lot of information from the forum about his favorite players, game schedules, sport stores online etc. I wont be surprised if our son wll get into baseball soon.

I wasn't able to bookmark the site where I found this because the largest size available is 24 months ( he wears 3T for shirts) . I hope to find it at some other sites:)

More on Baby Things

It feels like I'm a new mom. The excitement that I had with my pregnancy is still the same. I anticipate a lot of things already, and that definitely includes the baby things that I still need to buy. Since I just stay at home during weekdays, the internet became my bestfriend. I search and order things online at most times. I don't want to track down my expenses, Im too afraid to face the truth about my spendings. besides, im willing to spend for the baby and my little boy. I have a checklist to follow now, I already saw some really nice wooden baby cribs , and im dying to get the nice comforter set in Sage. Im avoiding pink as it may clash with the baby's outfit. Aside from Sage, I also like to get something in neutral color. We are not getting highchairs anymore, not at the moment, since my son has a high chair that can be converted to a booster seat. It is still in a very nice condition, so I am not sure if there's a need to get a new one. We will see when the time comes. If there's one thing that we need to get, that would be a travel cot. Travel cots comes handy and lightweight, and is very useful when you travel or when you spend the weekend at your inlaws. Surely, shopping is my thing !
