She.

Babygirl finally has a name.

But we are still keeping it as a secret . And since I am currently 34 weeks, might as well announce the name once i give birth. But let's see if I can still keep it a secret in the next few days ;P

I swear, we really had a hard time deciding for a girl's name. So i thought it would be easy huh?! It's a simple name though :) But we both love it.

Need help ?

Moving from one town to another maybe full of mixed emotions. Sad because you are leaving your old house , neighbors and friends. You also think of those memories that you shared with that place. But at the same time, it is an exciting phase in one's life too. New opportunities, new friends , and new life certainly awaits you in your new home. I am talking about moving because my cousin from Boston called me a while ago , telling me that they have finally decided of transferring to another city, where his fther would be based because of work. I know how my cousin feels , because he practically grew up in this community, and transferring now is a bit complicated for him. So instead of dwelling with all the sad thoughts, I made him feel excited with the moving part.I even helped him looking for a reliable Boston Moving Company to help him in transporting their stuff. I can tell he got excited too, because he tried inquiring at the website with their current rates. He was given a rough estimate of the charges that can possibly occur. Some services provided by the company were also discussed to him such as packing, storing and moving and unpacking. I hope he can adjust with his new life soon when they live at their new home.

me, busy?

Got so busy at the house lately. First, my hands are full with the little boy. That alone can explain why Im busy. Then I am also starting to check some of Joaqui's baby stuff that I can still use for our baby girl. Good thing we have some plain whites , and neutral shades that can still be used. Im 33-34 weeks pregnant, and that explains why its taking me hours to finish something im working with. God, i am heavy! (Dont ask my weight!) I would really like to cut down a little with my food intake, but I just can't resist the casserole recipes i saw at the our recipe box. A few weeks more and im definitely busier.

Pregnancy and Parenting

Having a toddler at home is surely not that easy. My hands are full and I wonder how can I manage to still take care of a newborn by next month. My son, who is currently 2 years and 5 months enjoys exploring and finding out things on his own. But as a mom, I see to it that he's always within my reach , or my eyes can still see what he's doing. Currently, I am having a hard time since I am 8 months pregnant already, and in a few weeks, Im gonna pop a newborn. Talk about new responsibilities huh?! To keep me equipped with knowledge and insights that I need to know, I enjoy reading pregnancy and parenting books. It helps me a lot since I'm able to get tips and tricks to make motherhood easier for me.

But lately I found out about this website that provides parents with fertility, pregnancy, parenting advice and I tried taking a peek at their forum. I was able to learn a lot in a short time I was reading, and I also noticed that some mothers experience what I am experiencing now with my toddler, So i had an assurance that everyting is just normal at this stage. And even though this is my second pregnancy, I also read about getting healthy during pregnancy, and Im glad that they have a nutritionist that specializes in pregnancy. I highly recommend this site to my fellow moms out there. They have articles , forums and even videos that you can watch. Truly an educational site.

Meet Dorothy

Dorothy Or "DORTHY" as pronounced by Elmo , is Joaqui's current craze. Last Sunday, we went to Cartimar at Pasay to get him this aquarium set , plus the 5 fishes of course. It was such a tiring experience for me , but never mind that part, the little boy had so much FUN when we had it assembled at home. His first reaction as I turned on the Aquarium light .. "wow mommy.. very nice!" .. the daddy and I laughed. Not just nice , but very nice hahahah!

** He badly needs a haircut ! hahaha! all sweaty after playing with Dorthy and bubbles**

** he would always ask me to get some food for Dorthy. Kawawang gold fish, bloated! **

We placed this at his playroom since he's there at most times. Can you see those yellow and green small sponge thingy? This morning, he dipped it inside the tank and I just saw the floor all wet after. I had some water splash all over my shirt too. Haaay, kasama talaga to sa kaligayahan nya sa aquarium.

A fish and a notebook

Okay, blame Elmo and Joe.

Last Saturday night, when I was putting him to sleep, Joaqui said to me , " Mom, lets buy fish and notebook tomorrow, ok? " I was so sleepy then , so I said OK.

Two weeks ago, he asked his dad for a fish already, but since he was admitted at the hospital, we have to postpone our trip to the pet store. Last Sunday , he had his simple wish.. a fish. The handy dandy notebook has to wait, I got too tired after buying some fish stuff and hearing mass, so we headed home after that. I'll get him a notebook on Friday night maybe.

I wish I can really get him something that really looks like the handy dandy notebook from Blue's Clues. I'll get 6 pcs if there's some available online. I might also checkout Asgi shoes while i do some notebook hunting.

More coins

I am shopping early this year for Christmas gifts, and I am currently hunting down for some stuff for my dad. I will just order it online then have it shipped at their place. I am thinking of getting him a nice wallet , but I remember that recently, he told me that he needs new coins for his collection. I am always looking at Monex Rare Coins online to see what I can give my dad. They have a very nice and unique collection , so I plan to get in touch with a coin dealer anytime this week. I have a budget to consider , of course. I need to make sure that what I plan to get is still not included with my dad's collection. Monex is the best place to check when it comes to coins since they have the experience and commitment in this type of business, not to mention they offer great prices too.

Another day in his life

I saw him with a writing on his face. He looks like "Batang BonnaKid" :) He loves to draw using a real pen (he knows that the aquadoodle pen wont write anywhere else) , so Im not shocked to see that our bed sheet has some lines and circles too. Ang hirap mawala sa paningin. He's just too fast, and Im too slow now to move :)

Look at his shirt, Cute noh?! Of course , My mom gave it to him Hahaha!

No pictures of me

Because each day , I am getting bigger.

I went to a Christening last Saturday Afternoon, and I asked Gelo to take some pics, but after seeing myself, I decided not to post it for now, LOL. Finally, the pictures says it all.

I am Pregnant. I am 32 weeks pregnant !

I always have this feeling that I will give birth at 37 -38 weeks ( just like my case with Joaqui) , so I only have 5 -6 weeks left before my due. I wonder if it will be easy for me to lose weight after. Or would I continuously gain weight even after giving birth? Will a diet pill be effective in case I'll have a hard time shedding off those extra pounds? Let's all wait and see.

Trip to the bookstore

Aside from clothes shopping, my mom also bought me a few books over the weekend. She knows how I love reading , and she's happy to know too that my son is into that hobby also. I got all excited seeing the books thru the webcam, because its been weeks since I told her about it , and Im just so glad she still remembered. She even signed up an annual membership at the bookstore , because she plans to buy more books and even textbooks in the future. It really pays to read. I can't wait to get my hands on those books. It will arrive here in a few weeks.

His 3rd

After blogging about this , Joaqui ended up being admitted at the Hospital. Looking back, here's what happened..

Saturday - Check up with his pedia, and he was diagnosed of a severe sore throat, thus the case of fever and a drop in milk intake. Little boy got into antibiotics and paracetamol.

Sunday - No fever anymore. He was able to eat a little , plus a little milk too. I noticed him touching something inside his mouth while eating.

Monday - Im in panic mode already, no milk the ENTIRE day ! He asked for it, but refused when he sucked the teats already. Positive! I saw a big Singaw at the left part. I knew it was so painful for him. Tried giving him milk thru the cup and straw, but still, he rejected.

Tuesday - AM - Still no milk intake. He's so irritable.. as in! Not the usual Joaqui . I sensed it already. I told my sister , " Candidate na tong si Joaqui" (candidate for being admitted at the hospital). He became clingy too. So i decided to go back to his pedia later in the afternoon.

Tuesday - PM - It was supposed to be just a check up, and we even plan to go to SM and pay some bills after. But that didnt happened. The moment his pedia saw him, she told me " Peach, admit na natin si Joaqui, he looks dehydrated" .. There! I knew it! When his mouth was checked, he got some other singaw pala! And one of his gums is bleeding a bit , and add to that some rashes at his torso. Panic mode agad kami ni Gelo ! I am definite, no rashes when I changed his clothes before going to the hospital, but when we were at his pedia, visible red marks talaga! Dengue Alert ang drama namin since he had fever for 2 days.

Tuesday NIGHT - As usual, it was so hard to get a room at UST that is covered by our healthcard. We grabbed the suite just to have a room, so that Joaqui can have his IV already, to keep him hydrated. Sayang ang oras, blood tests should also be done ASAP. Luckily, we dont have any incremental costs at the suite for the 1st night though its not covered by the healthcard. It is written at the terms and conditions that if no room is avail, the first night is free even if we are in a suite. Salamat!

Having nothing in hands but his bag owith 2 milks , extra shirt and diaper, Gelo and I decided to go home to get our stuff, while my sister and our helper stayed with the boy. It was raining really hard that night. We first dropped by SM for a little grocery of some things we will need . At 30 mins , we were done at the grocery and headed home, where i packed almost everything in my mind! Toys and books of course! At ang laptop! Hahaha!

He already have his IV when we arrived back at UST, and he was asleep. My sister said that he just cried, but not "nagwawala" like his previous cases when I was the one holding him. So better pala na wala ako dun, LOL. Would you believe, Gelo wouldnt want to see Joaqui in this scenario, ever! This is his 3rd already, but there was never a time that he held the little boy when its time for IV. He doesnt wanna see it daw, and he cant stand hearing Joaqui cry tremendously.

I am cutting this for now. Part 2 later.

Diabetes 101

Wonder why I need to research more on diabetes?

When my husband had on / off fever a few weeks back, his urinalysis results showed a high amount of sugar in his urine. The doctor explained that in cases like this, the sugar is just too much that it comes out in a person's urine already. Since my husband's family has a strong history of diabetes, we had him scheduled for some blood sugar tests. I hope it's nothing serious for him. So I made a few online reading about the disease, and I never thought that there are types of diabetes, of course, something differs in their nature and prevention. I started reading more information about Type 1 Diabetes Mellitus , and I had some very useful information from Epocrates Online. It has a detailed and very easy to follow information about diabetes, from the basics, to diagnosis, treatment and follow up.It is always best to have even a little knowledge when it comes to our health.

Our Weekend

Another not-so-healthy weekend, this time , it's for Joaqui. He had a slight fever last Friday afternoon, and I had a hard time configuring what's wrong since he has no colds nor cough. Yesterday, Saturday, i have decided to bring him to his pedia. He has a temperature of 37C before we left the house, but when we arrived at the clinic, I felt him getting really hot. Upon checking, he had a fever of 39.2 C !! He was given a suppository right that moment. The source of his fever was spotted the instance he opened his mouth.

He has acute pharyngitis (a painful inflammation of the pharnyx , also referred to as sore throat; tonsils may also be infected ,thus makes eating painful ). He's under antibiotics and paracetamol in cases of fever, and if it will lead to coughing, I am advised to nebulize him too. Thankfully, no coughing until now. We stayed home the entire time. Hubby and I decided to re schedule our search for contemporary furniture at the mall. That can wait..

Joaqui's milk intake is now down to 4oz. (from his usual 8oz) ..he only eats a few spoons of rice today. Im too afraid that he gets dehydrated, so I make him drink water from time to time. The only thing that doesn't bother me now is that, he remains to be active and playful. If he gets all clingy , then that Sure is a BIG problem for me. Hope he really gets well soon.

Wanted : Medical Assistants

We were at the hospital for two consecutive nights last week because of some blood exams for my husband. As I was walking along the corridor, trying to pass time while waiting for the results, I looked at some advertisements and announcements posted at the board. I've seen the hospital's need for a medical assistant . I believe the medical world has always been a very demanding service industry in most countries. So no wonder, there is already a formal online training for this. There's a lot of medical assistant schools already , and anyone who is considering this field should be careful enough when choosing. I have seen a Medical Assistant Certificate Program being offered online at St. Augustine Educational Services , and you can have your course online. It is designed and reviewed by professionals in order to provide its students with the best in online training.

I am giving this option to my friend, who is currently looking for an online school. This can be a very nice opportunity for her because of the training's flexible schedule. I won't be surprised if she will be a medical assistant soon.
