help me pack .. please

Yeah, i know its quite early, pasensya na, excited eh ;)

We are going on a vacation from Sept 14 - 16 for Gelo's birthday. can't wait to be at Panglao, Bohol. This would be the first time that Gelo and I are travelling , as in just the 3 of us. We had my in laws kasi when we went to Iloilo, and my sisters and cousins when we went to Cebu. And now its just us.. Good luck talaga sa aming dalawa!

Anyway, im too excited to pack. We have a new spot-me-easily-flaming-red suitcase which we got on sale at SM. And Gelo bought a super nice hand carry too. We were thnking of buying a Sammies penguin backpack for Joaqui, you should have seen him tried it out at the mall, nakaktuwa talaga.. cute cute!

We had 2 plane trips with Joaquin before, but your tips and suggestions in packing our stuff ( especially for my toddler) and what to bring checklist would be of great help. I wanna know too on what you have inside ur hand carry bags ( chismosa ba?) I have read kasi na i should have a spare shirt of my own too, in case lang of spills or any untoward incident. Korek naman.. never ko pa nga nagawa to. So il be including that in my hand carry.

I have a few question too:

1. how many bottles do u bring? Do u place it inside the check in luggage with water? di ba dapat empty sya? im afraid lang na masira since shallow sya, so i wrap it with clothes hehehe :) joaqui drinks a lot of milk kasi. since the time he wakes up, around 7, til 1pm, 3 bottles agad, aside from the solids pa yun ha .

2. im planning to use the chicco sterilizing liquid.. any feedback? il use hot water na lng for the final rinsing, im afraid may scent kasi sya.. and im thinking of bringing our microwavable sterilizer, since its compact. I can put some of his bottles inside, burp pads, bibs.. para di sayang ang space. The resort said that we can ask help from the kitchen for the microwave .

3. any suggestions and tips would be of great help.

Many Many thanks in advance :)

An article from the Manila Times dated August 1, 2007:

"OUTBOUND passengers at the Ninoy Aquino International Airport can now pack limited amounts of liquid, aerosols and gels in their carry-on baggage after the Manila International Airport Authority relaxed its rules covering the items starting today.

MIAA has decided to ease its security rules following the recommendation by the International Civil Aviation Organization to all airports worldwide.

But the volume of liquid, aerosols and gels in hand-carry luggage must not exceed 100 ml, and these should be placed in a reusable plastic bag with a maximum capacity of one liter.

The plastic bag should be presented to airport authorities for visual examination at the screening point. Only one transparent bag per passenger will be allowed.

Liquids, aerosols and gels exceeding 100 ml should be checked in.

MIAA General Manager Alfonso Cusi said medicine, baby milk and food, and special dietary requirements are exempted from the amount limitation.

Airport staff will distribute leaflets to inform airline passengers of the new screening procedure. Plastic bags will be available at booths in the departure lobby and passenger entrance doors.

Last year the MIAA enforced the total liquid ban in hand-carry luggage after the discovery of a bomb plot that would use liquid explosive in targeting United States-bound planes originating from the United Kingdom."

The first flight my daughter had was long 9 hours flight. I had the same questions prior to that flight. Believe me sis, I kept 6 feeding bottles with water in my handcarry, a small tin of formula and other things na often found sa baby's diaper bag plus some solid food packed in an air-tight container. Parusa ang magbyahe with an infant or toddler.

Tapos nung nasa Pnas kami, I was afraid na baka magrigodon ang tiyan dahil sa water, syempre maiibahan sya bigla sa tubig, so ang gamit kong tubig for her milk and food yung ABSOLUTE, pinapakuluan ko pa sya, yun na din yung tubig na ginagamit ko for sterilizing her bottles and other stuff.

It's always good and safe na dala mo yan kahit alam mong may mabibilhan dun if in case you would need it.

Hope this info helped you...

I'm not so sure about the airport's new rules on quantity of liquid you could carry. But in our case lumusot naman kasi nga may kasamang bata. Kung tutuusin mas mahigpit nga dapat kasi we came from Bahrain to Manila.

It's always better to check na din para di ka mapagod magbitbit kung di pala pwede.

I forgot, tama yung mga nagsabi sayong carry a spare shirt for yourself. I did when we traveled.

thanks for the tips..

weng, i will call Cebu pac and ask them na din. Last time kasi we went to Cebu, ok naman liquids kasi nga may baby kami kasama. I think that is stated dun sa check in counter, ung milk consumption for the flight. thanks for the article.

mitch - naku, dami ko lagi dala meds, pati pang adults. kasi its hard nga pag maghahanap ka pa. We even have a compact nebulizer for travelling, kasi nga asthmatic ko. We have a bag, a nebulizer and a DSLR. hehehe.. thanks a lot

Hi Peachy,

1. Dala ko lahat ng bottles ni Bela everytime mag travel kami (all 6 of them), and sa hand carry ko sya lahat nilalagay (kse takot ako i check in at baka masira/mabasag) and may laman na din sya tubig. Allowed naman kse sya as long as mag kakasama lahat ng gamit ng baby. Nasa hand carry ko din yung small box of milk nya.

2. I've used the sterilizing liquid twice na.

3. Yung mga tips na nakuha ko from other n@wies:
- pack an extra shirt for you on your hand carry para in case ano man mangyari ma axtra ka shirt na pamalit
- bring medicines and yung baby book ni joaqui
- have something na ma chew/suck ni joaqui during take off. Lollipop always works for Bela
- hmm, ano pa ba? Pag may naalala pa ako, sabihan kita.

Enjoy your vacation sis. We'll wait for your kwento and pictures.
