Last Christmas I received funny tshirts for me and for my husband. I like shirts like this because it brings out the funny side of a person. We plan to wear it on our weekend road trip with friends. It was such a busy Holiday Season for everybody. A month after Christmas, now is only the time that I was able to settle down from all the parties and reunions. As early as 2 years old, my son showed his interest with music. He started out with playing toy guitars and drums. Most were just the basic plastic toys then. When we saw how he likes to play good music, we got him a sturdy one so can practice more. We got his a wooden guitar and a mini drum set to practice playing. He is now turning 6 , and he also developed a passion for singing. He wants a microphone so he can sing and play his instruments at the same time. He loves the rock music like the ones from The Script. This summer, I am planning to enroll him in formal drums lessons so he can practice his skills more. I told him about my idea and he was really excited. I can really feel that I will have a musician in the future. All I need is to nurture his talent and support him with his dreams.

A signal booster for my old phone

I already got myself an iPhone but I am not giving up with my old Nokia phone. I just love it's QWERTY pad and I think I got so used to it already. Its what I use for calling and sending messages as well. But lately I noticed that it's signal is dropping, or sometimes my call will be cut as soon as the receiver picks up the other line. Im thinking of trying out the phone booster , as suggested by one of my friends. Hopefully it will do the trick, or else I will be forced to get myself a new phone, or might as well use the iPhone for sending messages and calling. Do you have other suggestions for new phone units? Or do you have other solution to my phone's problem?

As for me, winter time simply reminds me of Christmas as well. Mornings are colder now so its time to get our north face jackets from the storage cabinets. The quality of North Face jacket is really good because we have these pieces for quite some time now. Im just quite afraid now of the kids health. The kids usually gets sick during the start of this season so I make sure to protect them from too much cold. We all take double dose of Vitamin C , I noticed it works for us as well. I am excited as the month ends because we will be celebrating a couple of birthdays , and that is for my daughter and my sister. We are all set for my daughter's party with relatives and friends. House renovations can really be costly. Even if there are only some things that you would like to change, you can still end up buying a few items to complete the look. Aside from our bedroom and the kids bedroom, we are also changing our bath tub. I have seen a really nice claw tub, and Im hoping that we can still have it in our budget plan. I am after good , quality furniture even if it's a little expensive as long as it would really last for years. Aside from the tub, we will also change some pipes and faucets as well. For our bedroom, it would just be the side tables and the lights . Hopefully the renovation and re - layout of our rooms will be finished by the end of November so we can start decorating this December.

Just this week, another strong typhoon hit our country and so many places were left affected. Power was cut in our area around 10 am and we had electricity back at 10pm! Thank God I am prepared for this kind of situation after experiencing one a few years ago. I have some canned goods, rechargeable fan and light, emergency bag , extra batteries etc. It is always best to be prepared for this kind of situation especially when you have kids. I made sure that our emergency bag has some food for them and their milk as well. In any case that we need to leave our house, I can provide them with food. These typhoon experiences are getting traumatic. I also have this paranoid feeling when strong winds and rain hit our place. I experienced flooding inside our house , and I surely wouldn't want to experience it again. Let's all be prepared. I heard there's another typhoon this weekend.

I recently received a sad news that my cousin got into a car accident last month. He hit 2 cars in front of him and all cars got some damages. Thankfully, no one was badly hurt and there are only minor bruises. They were released from the hospital that same day after the bruises were treated. The Medical Emergency Assistance arrived at the scene of the accident shortly after it happened. It seems that our place has the summer weather all through out the year. I really can't stand the heat even in the morning when I bring my son to school. When I pick him up after school, it becomes too unbearable that our car's air conditioner is set to number 3 . Sometimes the sunshine really hits my eyes too, thank God that I have my sunglasses on. It protects me from damaging rays of the sun and it also helps me from my driving because the glare somehow distracts me. I would love to buy the Aviators but I really don't have the budget now so I just used my dark sunnies for protection. Seafood Dinner

It was our first time to try Sutokil at Cebu, and all i can say is WOW! It was a heaven for fresh seafood and great tasting food. We had Squids, Fish , Crabs , Shrimps.. everything cooked to perfection. The Garlic Butter Crab was one of my favorite. My kids on the other hand enjoyed their Soup with Shrimps. I think I gained 5 lbs after that vacation. Now I am searching for the best and effective fat burners online. For some weird reasons, the more I bike here at home for my exercise, the more I look bigger especially my legs ! I hope that the fat burners will do the trick. A visit to the hospital

It's been a while since I last visited a relative in a hospital, and I can say that its one good news. Usually I would visit relatives and friends who gave birth, and that is one thing that excites me . This time it's different, I went to visit my uncle who underwent some surgery in his bladder. Thank God, he is recovering now and everything went well. He was already taking small amounts of solids the time I was there. I gave him some fruits to brighten him up and at the same time handed the get-well soon card handmade by my son. This gave me some time to catch up with my aunt and cousins who were all there taking care of him. The room was quite big that even though we are a full house, it can still accommodate a few medical carts. The nurse asked us to vacate the room at around 8pm which is the sleeping time of my uncle. I am just glad that he is recovering and I can't wait to see him back on track soon.

My son's passion in Astronomy is really inspiring. Lately, we have been reading a lot of kiddie astrology books and watching some videos about the planets. The Astrocamp Experience

Last May 21-22 , we attended the Nido Fortified Science Discocery Center AstroCamp Experience. For months now, my son is so much into planets and the Solar System , and when I learned about this AstroCamp through Facebook, I joined the contest right away to win tickets for the event. I won in the contest by posting a pic of me and my son inside the Planetarium. Posted it at their FB wall and viola, free tickets for us. I don't need to print it out ( i don't have hp printers ink cartridges anymore) ,everything happened in just a few minutes.

So there, we stayed at Microtel MOA since it is an overnight event. I just want to be near the location in any case my son will sleep during the camp. There were some Planetarium shows and games too. It was very educational , and I have to say that I was amazed with their presentations. I salute our Philippine astronomers who were parts of this event. The highlight was viewing the Moon at around 2:30 am. My little boy was kinda sleepy then but he woke up to see the moon. After that some other planets started showing up through the telescopes. What a great night ! My son went back to Microtel at 330am , then me and my husband went back to take a glimpse of the other planets.

After months of looking for the right work from home job for me, I was able to receive a great offer for a job that I've been eying for quite a long time. The birth of laptop and netbooks made anyone's work a lot easier. Imagine you are not confined anymore into one pace just to finish work. You can actually do your task anywhere and if you are lucky enough, you can even have wifi connection. Our home has been transformed into a home office. We all work in our laptops,but honestly, I miss my desktop computer or what we call Ordinateurs in French. Our old one was hit with a virus and my husband has no time yet to have it fixed. I really wish I can re decorate my home office and place my desktop computer at the table. Some things are still better done with it. If ours won't get fixed, then I will just consider buying a new one if the budget permits.

Everybody tells me that she has a perfect body figure now. She was really on the overweight side when she was still an infant. Her active everyday life attributes to her great look now. Though I wouldn't deny the fact that she is still heavy. I think she lost weight and gained a few inches in height.

It's been a busy week for me. My mom is here with us for a month, and I see to it that we get to enjoy every moment with her. Last week, I had a great time catching up with some of my friends over coffee. We usually do this once a month since we are all busy with our personal lives. Term 3 at my son's school tackles the planet Earth and the Universe, and as part of their Culminating Activity, they went to the Nido Science Discovery Center at SM Mall of Asia. All the kids were excited to see what every gallery has in store for them. True enough, it was such a fun place for the kids (and kids at heart). My son loves the Shadow area where he needs to stand up and act like he is catching a fruit from a tree. His shadow reflected on the wall, and there was a tiger who will try to catch him too. When the tiger makes an approach, he needs to stand still so the tiger won't eat him. It was really fun!

He also loved the Invaders of Mars Film Showing at the Planetarium inside the Center. It was big and has really nice facilities making it enjoyable to watch. We are planning to go back there again this summer with his cousins. .

We went to visit Manila Ocean Park last week and thankfully it's not so humid that day. The kids enjoyed everything they saw and are looking forward to going back there next month for the Musical Fountain Show.

I feel a little off nowadays because I gained so much weight again. My son's school celebrated the Chinese New Year last Feb 11 . It was a fun - filled day when the kids performed 3 Chinese songs, games and art activities. My boy is the one wearing green cheongsam (his favorite color is green because of Ben 10) . My princess also came in her traditional chinese costume.

She is one adorable little girl. Or should I say, little big girl. She's now 2 yrs and 3 months old but her clothes size is 3T , sometimes even 4T! She loves to pose like a model but she can also move like a little boy, out in the loose! She's everywhere in our house, touching and playing up with almost everything. Sometimes I feel like I will be needing some hair loss products because people say you lose your hair when you get stressed out.

What a wonderful Sunday lunch! I met my dear girlfriends for a sumptuous Japanese buffet. They noticed that I look slim now as compared to last time they saw me which was last Christmas. They even wonder if I am taking diet pills now. Oh well, I am not, I am just busy with household chores and it is my daily dose of exercise. Trip to Manila Ocean Park

Last week, we had a spur of the moment, Lets-go-to Manila Ocean Park day. Since my husband is still on leave at work, we want to take the kids there on a weekday. I believe somethings are better to be unplanned. After picking up my son from school, we had lunch at home and prepared the kids. We are all excited to visit the place. Would you believe that it was out first time? The picture here shows how much my kids loves the underwater world.

Sorry if my sister looks a little chubby here, maybe that's the reason why she's trying to cover her tummy with her bag. I already told her she needs the best weight loss supplements to slim her figure down. She's gaining weight here in Manila because of yummy food!

So what are your plans for valentine's day? Me, I will spend my morning with my boys. Parents are invited at my son's school to celebrate the hearts day. Some activities are lined up for the parents and for the kids as well.

After that we just plan to spend the afternoon at home. Traffic is terrible during this Day because everybody will have dinner somewhere. We plan to have a post - valentines dinner on Feb 20 and a Spa treat by the end of the month. The roles of a homemaker is endless. Anything that concerns your home concerns you too. From furniture, to bathroom fixtures , laundry, gardening and of course food! We are 5 in this house, and two are working so most of the time, they eat at the office and would not have dinner here at home. Regularly, I have leftovers and I stock them in microwavable containers so I will just reheat them the following day. My mom gave me the best food storage last Christmas and I am so thankful for that. Finally, storing food was never this easy! I love how the different sizes are so fitting in our fridge. We have two medicine cabinets here at home, one is for the kids and one for adults. I don't want to mix up what I can use for them so I got two. Enjoying the water

Last December 24 to 26, we stayed at the Hotel to celebrate Christmas together. After resting for a while, we headed to the swimming pool to enjoy the water. It was a little cold, but my kids still enjoyed it. I had a hard time though because my eyes are a little sore from too much watching TV and the rays of the sun adds up to the glare. I should have gotten some cheap glasses before heading there to keep my eyes somehow protected. Anyway, I just gave it a good rest after. We all had a nap after swimming then we prepared for our Christmas eve dinner which is really one of the best we had. I wish to spend some more time with the kids like this. Time flies really fast, they will soon be spending time with their friends.

Whenever I would see him play, I seriously try to understand the game because it really seems interesting. He gave me a primer on what the game is all about and the mechanics as well. I realized that this is a game of great strategy and thinking, not to mention the use of mathematical skills.

He told me about the small blinds , big blinds and the raise. This is about the betting involve in the game when you are playing for money. This can really test your simple mathematical skills. He also taught me about the card combinations that can lead you to win the game. Strategy and mind skills are very important here because you have to be very good in determining which possible combination can make you win the game. Your opponents are surely thinking hard to on how they can beat you with their own set of cards. I think this is really addicting , I am actually considering of checking out the poker tables at the mall. This will surely be great during parties or in house dinner with friends and families. I would need to practice more everyday because this is how I will develop my own strategies in playing. Maybe I would try playing online for fun then try playing with my husband when we finally have the poker table.

Last day to go malling

Everywhere is traffic, and I mean heavy traffic. People are in their last minute shopping for gifts and personal stuff. Its quite hard to be stuck there in the middle of nowhere if you have toddlers inside the car. This is the reason why I always bring some toys when we go out. We even played games on what we see around,like cars, colors, people, trees etc. My son was even delighted to see a fig tree this morning. They study trees in school this term so we spent a good time inside the car talking about trees.

Anyway, I will be away to enjoy the Holidays with my family. I would like to wish all of you a very meaningful Christmas!

not feeling well

I wasn't able to blog much lately because I am feeling sick. Maybe because I do so many things everyday that I don't get enough sleep anymore. Work and house chores are getting in my way, I can't seem to handle my daily schedule well. So I took a break last weekend to rest. I am too scared to be hospitalized even if we have an affordable health insurance. My kids need me , I seriously cant afford to be sick. Getting enough rest is truly the answer. Now i feel re energized and I work better the next day because I make it a point that I get enough sleep every night. Take care of your health everyone!

I noticed from my recent vacation pictures that I gained weight. Christmas season is here so I know that I will continually gain weight. Good Food is everywhere and its just so hard to resist it. I keep on looking for a john deere turf tractor with trailer for my little boy. He saw this at the mall last month and he told me that he wants to have one for Christmas.I told him he needs to be good to his sister so Santa Claus can give him one. Family Day

It was a great day for my family. It was just a simple weekday but we get to spend it together because my son had a school activity and we all joined him. He watched a musical play entitle Sleeping Beauty and after that we went around the mall for lunch and a little shopping. I finally got some small presents for his schoolmates and cousins. I even got compression stockings that my mom asked me to buy for her. I think this to aid something in her legs. After that quick shopping, we went to check out the big school we are considering for my son. It was a good experience since we were able to observe a class. The final decision would certainly depend on my son, but hopefully he will like it there.

What can I do if my child is constipated?

There are many things you can do to help your child:

Diet. You can start by increasing the amount of fluid your child drinks each day. If your baby is eating cereal, you can try adding a little prune juice to it. If you have an older child, make sure she or he is drinking plenty of water. You can also give your child prune juice, bran cereal, fruits and vegetables to increase the amount of fiber in his or her diet and help your child pass a stool. Avoid giving your child candy and refined sugars.
Bowel habit training. Teach your child to go to the bathroom when he or she first feels the urge to have a bowel movement. You can help your child establish a regular bowel habit by asking your child to sit on the toilet for at least 10 minutes at about the same time each day, preferably after a meal. Make sure your child can place his or her feet firmly on the floor while sitting on the toilet. If this is not possible, put a footstool in front of the toilet. While your child is sitting on the toilet, you might let your child read a story book or listen to the radio.
Medicine. Many laxatives are available to treat constipation in children. The choice of laxative depends on the age of your child and how serious the constipation is. Ask your family doctor to suggest a brand name and tell you how much to use.
Start a reward program. Begin rewarding your child for just sitting on the toilet. For example, if your child sits on the toilet at the planned time, reward your child with a favorite activity. If your child has a bowel movement, give your child praise and a reward. Avoid using food as a reward. Young children may like to be awarded with stickers or stars on a chart. Older children may like to add up points for a larger reward, such as a trip to a movie theater or the park.

I think this is the 3rd year that Santa Claus is on this exact spot in our house. This is one of those we bought from the Christmas store near our area and though it is made of paper mache, I can say that it's worth the price. With the proper storage, this decor can surely go a long way.. I plan to get more Santa for this year, my kids love him!

We went to Migo and Samantha's party a few weeks ago with the Safari Adventure theme. Kids were asked to be in costume so my little girl used this costume again! I didn't had a hard time changing her clothes. She even enjoyed staying at the stage, jumping around and even walking like she owns it! Thanks to Mike and Jacqui for inviting us, we enjoyed it to bits!

It's December! I feel excited for the holidays!

We have a lot of reunions / parties lined up this month and I hope that I can attend in all of those. This is what I love this season, you get to hear from everyone close to you, you catch up with each others lives and you get to eat great food. What more can you ask for? This weekend, after I finish my research about md clear review , I will meet up my dear friends for dinner. It's a little Christmas party for our group too. Next week is scheduled for my college friends, its been a while since we last saw each other. I feel excited already, I just can't wait! What are your plans for this month? My son has been constipated lately , I am looking for ways to ease his constipation. I bought fruits rich in fiber last night at the grocery. I also grabbed a few yoghurt and yoghurt drinks because these are effective ones for him. Now I am into some major reading about constipation.

Let me share with you some information i found online when it comes to treating constipation.

· avoid foods high in fat and sugars

· eat plenty of fibers, such as whole grains, fruits and vegetables

· drink eight glasses of fluid a day

· exercise on a daily basis

· do not hold stool for fear of missing out on some activity, when you feel like you have to use the restroom, go

· check to see if current medications are causing the constipation

Just a few weeks ago, we had our short beach vacation with my sister to celebrate her birthday. We had an early flight and here's a picture of the kids while waiting to board. We are trying hard around here to ignore Joaquin's pleas for a new pet. He, of course, wanted a puppy. Now though, it seems as he will take anything. After I said no to a puppy he asked for a kitten. After I said no he asked for a rodent of some kind. His father made a joke about going to Grandma's house with a piece of cheese and catching himself one, but he did not think that counted.

Today I grabbed the mail and found postcards from two companies advertising specials. One went right in the trash because we didn't need what they sell. The other one was from a local tropical fish store. So, I could get him a small tank with some pretty fish for not too much money.

Does anybody else think that this is a good compromise for getting him a pet? I had a very small tank once. It had two beautiful guppies in it. The problem was, one of them was so mean. It would bite the tail on the other one. Then, one day, the yellow one was just gone. Mom told me he died, but I think she got rid of him because he was so mean to the other fish.

Anyway, it is obvious that my mind is wandering. I was talking about a new pet. I think I know what happened though. I am distracted by the sunlight.

It is beautiful outside today. I wanted to stop and write, but now I can't wait to get out there and enjoy some sunshine! So, I will leave you with a question. An Over-Worked Mom

When you’re a mother, sometimes it feels like you are running a bed and breakfast. The only difference is you don’t have commercial refrigeration or get paid for your services. You have to cook meals, make beds, do laundry and manage the house, with little to no thanks. This can be a physically tiring and mentally straining situation. Sometimes you probably feel like collapsing on the couch and letting everyone fend for themselves.

There are a lot of things you can do, however, to lighten your burden. You can teach your kids how to do a few things for themselves. It won’t hurt them to cook a few meals and wash their own laundry. It will actually make them more independent, which is a good thing for you. Don’t be fooled by your kids. They are fully capable of doing a lot of things you do for them.

You should also set up a chore chart. There is no reason for you to do all the work when there are other capable hands in the house. Even the younger children should have chores, even if it is something as simple as fixing all of the pillows in the living room. You can be creative and find jobs for everyone.

Another thing you can do is coordinate carpools to all of the different activities that your children are involved in so you don’t have to drive them every single time. This will save you a lot of time which means you might actually have a second or two to sit down and relax, unless you fill your time with more things to do.

While you want to be “Super Mom,” sometimes it’s better to take things a little slower and not sweat the small stuff. You are going to make yourself sick if you keep getting burned-out every day.
